CANTON COUNTRY CLUB

Raising Funds for Suicide Prevention and Scholarship One Round of Golf at a Time

The Stuapalooza Memorial Golf Tournament began in 2016 after Stuart Smith, an avid golfer who attended Mississippi State University, took his own life. Every year since his death, Stuart’s parents and friends have worked tirelessly to help remove the stigma associated with mental health and suicide. To honor Stuart’s life, his family and friends have organized this tournament to raise critical funds for suicide prevention organizations. In addition, proceeds from the tournament go towards awarding scholarships to Madison County students each year.

About the Tournament

The Stuapalooza Memorial Golf Tournament is a three-person scramble, shotgun style format with two teams to a hole. There are two tee times that teams can choose from: 8:00AM and 1:00PM.

The tournament includes three competitions: the Duck Shot, Hole in One, and the Cooler Challenge. Winners of these competitions are awarded prizes sponsored by local businesses.

Proceeds from sponsorship and player fees go towards the American Council for Suicide Prevention, statewide collegiate suicide prevention programs, and scholarships to Madison County students.
