CANTON COUNTRY CLUB

About the Tournament

The Stuart Smith Memorial Scholarship is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2016 by the friends and family of Stuart Smith—a beloved young man whose life was tragically cut short by suicide. Stuart was an avid outdoorsman with a deep love for golf, fishing, music, and cheering on his Mississippi State Bulldogs. More than anything, he was a loyal friend with a kind heart, and he is deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In honor of Stuart’s life and legacy, his family and friends created Stuapalooza, an annual golf tournament that brings the community together to raise awareness about mental health and suicide prevention. The event is both a celebration of Stuart’s passions and a powerful way to spark hope and healing for others.

Proceeds from Stuapalooza support suicide prevention efforts across Mississippi, and each year, two Madison County students are awarded college scholarships through the Stuart Smith Memorial Scholarship Fund—continuing Stuart’s legacy by investing in young lives and brighter futures.

The tournament includes three competitions: the Duck Shot, Hole in One, and the Cooler Challenge. Winners of these competitions are awarded prizes sponsored by local businesses.
